Art lovers won’t want to miss the Margaret River Region Open Studios, running from 12-27 September 2026.
Now in its 13th year, this much-loved free event gives visitors the rare opportunity to step inside private studios, meet the artists and discover where and how their work is created.
This year, 155 artists are taking part across the Margaret River region, with an extraordinary variety of creative work to discover – from painting, ceramics and sculpture to jewellery, textiles, photography, woodwork, printmaking and mixed media.
One of the pleasures of Open Studios is that the journey is every bit as enjoyable as the destination. Studios are scattered throughout the region, taking you along country roads, through forests and vineyards, and into creative spaces that are normally private.
Our top tip: Don’t try to see everything in one day. Choose an area or a handful of artists that particularly interest you and allow time to stop, chat and enjoy the experience. Around 5-7 studio visits in a day can make for a comfortable pace, depending on distances and how long you spend with each artist.
